French Dual Language Immersion

Grantsville Elementary is home to a French Dual Immersion Program. Currently we have the program in 1st-5th Grades. There are approximately 310 students learning the French language. By next year we anticipate that about half of our student population will be learning French. We are fortunate to have this program in our school. Students from within our boundaries and from other areas of Tooele County School District have the opportunity to learn French.


Utah’s Dual Language Immersion program offers a rich bilingual experience for young learners when their minds are developmentally best able to acquire a second language. 

Instruction is divided between two high quality creative classrooms:

  • One in English
  • One in French

    Immersion students perform as well as or better than non-immersion students on standardized tests of English and math administered in English.

2021-2022 Registration Information
The registration period has opened for our current Kindergarteners. Follow this link to complete the application. We will be in contact with everyone who applies after March 15, when registration closes.
