Tooele County School District has only one week of school left this year and we have not received direction from the Utah State Board of Education or the Governor to cancel school dismissal. School Dismissal currently extends to June 30, 2020. As such there will be no changes in our home learning or graduation plans. We will ensure to communicate with our employees, students and parents if there are any changes to extracurricular activities, in-person services, and other learning opportunities. We will also continue to keep close communication with our state and local officials to help us define and refine what changes, if any, the yellow designation may create.
Finally, as expected, many people are wondering about our return to school in the Fall. There have been multiple ideas shared by individuals and through various media. As you come across this information, please understand that it is speculative at this point. For the last several weeks and for several more to come, we are developing a number of different contingency plans for the 2020-21 school year. Be assured we will communicate those as they become firm. We will also communicate any deviations to those plans that may arise as the COVID-19 pandemic evolves.
We understand the concerns and challenges created by so much uncertainty, but we also hope you will join us in our confidence and excitement for the 2020-21 school year.
